Amid the ongoing turmoil in the crypto landscape, projects continued to raise funds successfully. Spice AI, Gameplay, Omni, and TrialXtreme announced successful venture rounds.
Gameplay Galaxy Raises $12.8 million
Gameplay Galaxy (Trial Xtreme) just recently completed successful funding round raising $12.8 million. According to many reports, this funding round was led by Gameplay Galaxy, a creator of web2 racing and sports games. Other participants in the round include Merit Circle, Mysten Labs, Solana Ventures, Com2uS, Hustle Fund, and Yield Guild Games.
Essentially, this gaming ecosystem allows its users to own some racing-related gaming assets, including racetracks and characters in the form of NFTs; network participants can easily earn passive income by simply winning the races.
Gameplay Galaxy CEO Doron Kagan recently commented saying;
“The advent of web3 has resulted in an open field of creative opportunities for game creators. Gameplay Galaxy has designed a new ecosystem that harnesses the full power of web3 to provide a much more exciting and interactive gaming experience for our players.”
Sorare Partners with NBA, Launching Fantasy Basketball Game
Sorare, the web3 developer, recently partnered with the National Basketball Association (NBA) and National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) on a mission to introduce a free-to-play fantasy basketball computer game. According to reports, this game will be launched publicly this fall and will be ready for the start of the 2022-2023 basketball season.
In a recent statement, NBA commissioner Adam Silver said;
“Our partnership with Sorare will give NBA fans an entirely new way to engage with our teams and players. With Sorare’s emerging NFT fantasy platform, we see significant opportunities to broaden our community of fans and grow NBA basketball around the world.”
Sorare launched as an Ethereum-based NFT platform with collectibles for a fantasy soccer game. The network engaged with Serena Williams, a tennis star, in January. Sorare raised $680 million last year, hitting a $4.3 billion valuation.
Spice AI Closes $13.5 Million Seed Round
In a recently concluded funding round, Spice AI, a data platform developer, announced that they successfully raised $13.5 million. According to reports, this venture round was led by Madrona Venture Capital, with Blackbird Ventures, Alumni Ventures Blockchain Fund, and Basis Set Ventures.
The most crucial tool of Spice AI is spice.xyz, which enables SQL-based trawling of data garnered from the blockchain.
The platform’s CEO, Luke Kim, recently said;
“There is no ecosystem out there that is more data rich than Web3 and blockchains, but that area is currently hampered by lack of data access and infrastructure.”
Omni Raises $11 Million on Funding Round
Omni, a Web3 wallet, just recently completed a funding round raising $11 million. According to reports, Omni will now hit a valuation of $50 million. The investors connected to this funding round include Spartan Group, Eden Block, OP Crypto, GSR Ventures, Shima Capital, Daedalus Angels, Kosmos Ventures, Figment Capital, PrimeBlock Ventures, Chorus One and Lattice Capital.
Engel, the platform’s founder, recently said;
“The primary hurdle that stands between users gaining access to the future of the internet, is ease of use. That’s why we built Omni: an incredibly easy-to-use Web 3 application that can do it all without sacrificing even a fraction of self-sovereignty. Especially after seeing the CeFi meltdown, we wanted to give users something that was as easy to use as CeFi, but 100% self-custodial and DeFi. And that’s what we’ve done with Omni.”
Tesseract Energy Raises $78 Million
Tesseract, a web3 energy startup, just recently announced the compilation of a venture round raising $78 million. According to reports, this funding round was raised with support from many investors, including Balderton, Accel, Lakestar, Ribbit Capital, Box Group and Low Carbon. The platform was founded by Alan Chang, former CRO at Revolut.
The network raised $30 million in traditional equity and $48 million in the form of native tokens. After this round, the startup hit a $145 million valuation.
