Animal Planet and Chronicle Team Up For Puppy Bowl NFT Drop
Animal Planet has partnered with NFT marketplace, Chronicle to present a fun twist to its 18th edition of the Puppy Bowl – Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) in the form of Puppy Bowl trading cards!
Discovery and Animal Planet have teamed up with the eco-friendly NFT Marketplace, Chronicle, to let the latest version of the Puppy Bowl dip its paws in the world of NFTs.
Puppy Bowl is a spin-off of the Super Bowl and is one of the most successful televised animal adoption events and canine sports competitions. The overall goal is to promote awareness about adopting dogs from animal shelters, rescue abandoned animals, and highlight the efforts of rescue workers. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the NFTs will benefit Orange Twins Rescue, an animal rescue and adoption charity founded by brothers Scott and Brian Nicholson and artist Ariana Grande.
Chronicle’s NFT platform allows easy access to the collection from the web or mobile app. The platform uses eco-friendly blockchain networks, not driven by high-energy “proof-of-work” systems. To buy NFTs, users can sign up and pay by credit card.
Puppy Bowl x Chronicle NFT Collaboration
The entire Puppy Bowl NFT series consists of 23 exclusive NFTs of the two competing teams in the Puppy Bowl, Team Fluff and Team Ruff. The NFTs will vary in price and rarity, with the rarest cards dropping closer to the main event. The initial drop of 5,000 “Puppy Bowl Passes” sold out in under 24 hours.
A total of 16 “Rare” NFT trading cards, priced at $100 each, dropped last week. Each trading card collectible features the puppies set to compete in the Puppy Bowl and displays the breed, hometown, and personality type. Anyone who collects all eight cards from either Team Ruff or Team Fluff will unlock a special bonus card. Alongside the “Rare” cards, the Puppy Bowl Team Captain cards were released and are available for purchase at $20.
Those interested can find new NFT releases on the Chronicle marketplace through the big game on February 13th.
