Astar Foundation launches Polkadot’s Relayers Incubator program
The Astar Foundation has announced the launch of its Polkadot Relayers Incubator 2023, to amplify the potential of builders in Polkadot.
Polkadot’s Relayers Incubator program
The Polkadot Relayers Incubator 2023 is focused on skill development and community engagement. The program is for start-ups and early-stage developers by creating a community that encourages creativity. Participants will receive dedicated mentorship and community support from seven specialized parachains teams in Polkadot’s ecosystem.
Aside from bringing together a diverse group of talented individuals to catalyze decentralized finance (defi) development, the incubator would offer a range of tracks that participants can explore. These tracks include Cross-Consensus Messaging (XCM), which aims to help teams innovate cross-chain interoperability utilizing features in Astar, Mangata, Moonbeam, or OAK networks.
Smart contracts focus on developing quality decentralized apps (dapps) for the Astar or Moonbeam network. The non-fungible token (NFT) and gaming track utilize Zeitgeist’s software development kits (SDKs) to educate participants and foster innovation within the NFT/Gaming space.
Finally, the defi track focuses on innovations to contribute to the global adoption of cryptocurrencies and Polkadot through the transformative potential of the technology in finance. By providing needed resources, mentorship, and support, the program aims to continually encourage teams working on solutions to current financing problems.
Another key feature of the Polkadot Relayers Incubator is collaboration. Instead of fostering competition, participants would be encouraged to collaborate and be allowed to work alongside experts and mentors who are deeply involved in the blockchain space. This agreement would go beyond theoretical aspects, allowing participants to gain practical insights, refine their ideas, and develop a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the blockchain ecosystem.
Developers eager to build on Polkadot’s parachains can apply for the Polkadot Relayers Incubator 2023.
Successful applicants would be interviewed, and selected teams would embark on an 8-week journey into the Polkadot ecosystem.
Engaging investors
The Polkadot Relayers Incubator program will culminate on Showcase Day for participants to present their solutions to potential investors. For that reason, the program has a strong focus on investment readiness.
Participating teams will receive guidance and mentorship that will help them refine their projects and present them in a way that resonates with potential investors. This aspect of the program aims to bridge the gap between development and investment, ensuring that promising projects have the resources they need to succeed in the competitive blockchain market.
The investor engagement aspect of the program would take place in Singapore, the same week as Token2049 — Asia’s flagship crypto event.
