Atleta Network introduces a specialized blockchain platform tailored for the sports industry, aiming to enhance fan engagement and operational efficiency.
The sports industry is experiencing a surge in web3 adoption. From NFTs and ticketing to fan engagement, major clubs and leagues are exploring blockchain’s potential. However, existing blockchains lack features specifically designed for the unique needs of sports organizations.
Introducing Atleta Network, the flagship product of the well-funded Blockchain Sports project. This international initiative, backed by over $8 million in investments, aims to enrich sports using advanced technologies like AI, VR/AR, and blockchain.
About Atleta Network
Atleta Network is a layer 1 blockchain specifically designed for the sports industry. It offers a comprehensive suite of features, including smart contract creation, secure data storage, efficient financial transactions, and a robust decentralized app (dApp) development ecosystem.
This eliminates the need for sports organizations to juggle multiple blockchains for different functionalities. Additionally, Atleta leverages Substrate technology for smooth network operation and minimal transaction fees.
Key features for sports organizations
Parachains: Empower sports organizations to create private blockchains within the Atleta Network. These parachains leverage the network’s functionalities while maintaining control over sensitive data.
Enhanced cross-chain communication: Atleta builds upon the existing XCM standard for communication between parachains. The team is exploring integration with complementary solutions like IBC or CCIP for broader compatibility.
Modular architecture: Atleta boasts a modular architecture with separate layers for data storage, smart contract execution, and dApp deployment. This optimized structure enhances network performance.
Nominated proof-of-stake (NPoS): Atleta’s unique consensus system adds a layer of nominators who approve transactions. This not only strengthens security but also incentivizes users who stake the network’s native token, ATLA.
Upcoming milestones
May 2024: Launch of the Atleta Testnet, allowing users to experience core functionalities like a cross-chain bridge, native wallet, decentralized exchange (DEX), blockchain explorer, and staking mechanisms.
Whitelist NFTs: Available until May 2024, these NFTs grant priority access to the Testnet and reward users for their participation.
Q3 2024: Full launch of the Atleta Mainnet, featuring an AI/ML system for continuous network improvement and seamless operation.
ATLA token
ATLA is the utility token that fuels the Atleta Network. It grants access to the network’s functionalities and can be traded for major cryptocurrencies on the built-in DEX. Additionally, the Atleta Bridge facilitates seamless token transfers between Atleta and other EVM-compatible networks.
The Token Generation Event (TGE) is scheduled for September 2024. While there’s no confirmed information about an airdrop, following Atleta on social media is recommended to stay updated on any potential airdrop announcements.
Blockchain sports: Building the future of football
Beyond Atleta Network, Blockchain Sports operates three football academies in Brazil, nurturing the talents of over 200 young players from underprivileged backgrounds. Combining advanced technologies and expert coaching, these academies aim to develop the next generation of football stars. Atleta Network serves as the core component of their ecosystem, enabling fan engagement and support for these aspiring athletes.
