In the latest episode of the #BybitLevelUpChallenges, Oracle Red Bull Racing drivers Max Verstappen (2021 Formula 1 Drivers’ World Champion) and Sergio ‘Checo’ Perez go on a crash course challenge to decipher some of the common terms and slang in both the crypto and racing world. In the end, it turns out that both industries have a lot in common.
The series is exclusive to Bybit Race Insider as well as Bybit’s official social channels (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn), fans will be able to see the performance of their favorite Formula 1 stars via the video clips uploaded on the aforementioned channels.
Race Won, Mission Accomplished
Just like in the racing arena, both Max and Checo did not disappoint, as they were quite competitive on theCrypto Slang Challenge. They made correct guesses of the meaning of various terms and acronyms in the crypto space, while also establishing similarities using those terms in the racing world.
The result: Oracle Red Bull Racing drivers have gained more knowledge on crypto references.
When the drivers were asked to explain what they understood by the term ‘HODL’ (an acronym for hold’ on to dear life,’ an expression used during market drawdowns by crypto investors referring to a long-term approach to crypto investing)Verstappen quickly answered “stick to your position,’ proving that he understands the industry jargon.
When shown the term ‘diamond hands,’ Verstappen immediately said ‘that’s Checo,’ and he was quite right as the crypto industry term refers to the high-risk appetite of professional investors and it bears some similarity to Checo’s stellar racing strategies that earned him the ‘Minister of Defense’ title.
But perhaps the most entertaining part of the challenge was when Max and Checo were asked to explain what they understood by the term ‘when Lambo?’ and Max promptly responded ‘when to shine through the streets… show off,’ and Checo added “when you’ve done well in crypto, you have to show it.’
