Dogecoin gets New Non-Custodial Wallet for iOS
Doge wallet for iOS users is now available via an official announcement from Shibetoshi Nakamoto, the anonymous creator of the DOGE cryptocurrency. This implies that the wallet can be downloaded by anyone with an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch.
What the Doge Wallet Delivers
MyDoge Wallet’ is a non-custodial social wallet designed for the safe storage and trading of the memecoin DOGE.
Co-founder of Dogecoin Billy Marcus announced it on Twitter on March 4th, 2013.
The MyDoge Wallet’s App Store description refers to it as ‘the Social Wallet for the People’s Currency’ and states that:
“MyDoge is a free, secure, non-custodial social wallet for Dogecoin. Our mission is to increase the number of daily Dogecoin transactions by building a community for Dogecoin enthusiasts to explore the Dogecoin universe and connect/meet with friends. With MyDoge you can buy, send, receive, and store your Dogecoin safely.”
The non-custodial wallet app, according to Markus, was not developed by the Dogecoin team. There were instead several independent developers who worked together to create the app.
According to a tweet from the MyDoge Wallet team, the app enables DOGE transfers from any cryptocurrency exchange and other crypto wallets, including Robinhood and Coinbase.
The app is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch devices running iOS 12.0 or greater. It can also be used on the Apple M1 chip Macs running macOS 11.0 or later.

Dogecoin-related items have been developed by independent developers before, so it’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time. On Twitter and Reddit’s Dogecoin community forum, he announced the debut of SoDogeTip, a Dogecoin tipping bot.
An announcement by the Dogecoin Foundation’s main developer Ross Nichol about his departure comes just one week after this latest development, in which the foundation is now looking for a new CEO.
