How Umetaworld is Making the Metaverse and the World More Social

While the world has re-emerged from the COVID-19 pandemic, it is still fresh in most of our minds. Notably, many of us remember the months we spent with barely any human contact, not seeing our friends, canceling events, and much more.

If anything, that period of time taught us just how irreplaceable contact with our loved ones is and how the world thrives when people are able to be social. As the tech world is fully embracing the metaverse and all the things that will come with it, it is important that we keep this in mind.

This is the message of Umetaworld, the world’s first metaverse social media site, as it announces its launch.

Umetaworld Announces New Platform

As per an official press release from the management of Umetaworld, its new website has been launched in the first week of July 2022, and its metaverse app has been released on App Store and Play Store a few days ago despite being in the initial stage of token listing..

Along with the upcoming launch, Umetaworld has also shed some light on the features that fans can expect, all of which center around the social experience. For starters, all the avatars that will be used for interactions will be based on users’ actual faces.

As part of the signup process, users will take a selfie and this will be used to create a realistic version of their face that their avatars will use. This will make the social process much easier and more personal for them.

Users can interact with others using these avatars, whether in or around Umetaworld’s Union Square or in private rooms that can be customized to their taste. Unlike a lot of NFT projects that offer a fantastical gaming-style landscape, Umetaworld is reminiscent of the real world.

This means you can walk down the street and talk to friends as you would in the real world. You can also attend events with them like concerts and trade exhibitions. This means you can see your favorite artist or attend events you otherwise wouldn’t have the chance to.

Celebrities will also have live sessions and AMAs with fans in Umetaworld, giving a more intimate experience than you would get on other social media sites. Finally, you will also be able to shop while on Umetaworld.

Whether you want to buy a new virtual dress (which will come with a real-life equivalent delivered to your home) or an NFT, you can do so using your avatar. The management of Umetaworld has teased many more updates to come, revealing that the version of the metaverse that will be unveiled will not be the last.

All these purchases will be made with UMW, the native currency of the metaverse. The token was released to the public following an Initial Bond Curve Offering (IBCO), which leveraged liquidity from early investors who could get in on the token early. The management of Umetaworld has also confirmed that UMW is the only token allowed on its platform.

Overall, these features are geared towards the same thing; socialization among users. Umetaworld does not exist as a place focused on commerce but on connections. Everyone within it is encouraged to speak with and engage with others and as the metaverse emerges, this attitude must not be lost.

A Social Future

It is no secret that the metaverse is the hottest thing in tech these days. More projects are announced every day in the field and even Facebook has changed its parent company name to Meta.

But in the midst of all this development, it is easy to get sucked into the money aspect and forget what it is supposed to be about. This is where Umetaworld comes in, making sure that the social part of the metaverse is prioritized.  After all, trading virtually is all good and fine, but we should always remember that the metaverse exists for us to be social.
