P2E Gaming Platform MixMob Secures $7 Million in Latest Funding Round

P2E Gaming Platform MixMob Secures $7 Million in Latest Funding Round

Solana-based Metaverse Game on Remix Culture, MixMob, today announced it had raised $7 million in its latest funding round. MixMob is aiming to release its game in phases from April onwards.

MixMob Raises $7 Million in Latest Funding Round

MixMob, a Metaverse Game powered by the Solana blockchain that aims to bridge the gap between play-to-earn gaming and user-generated content has successfully raised $7 million from several industry-leading venture capital firms and angel investors.

Notably, the funding round was led by the DeFi-focused crypto-asset fund Defiance Capital. In addition, the funding round witnessed participation from some of the top names in the crypto and blockchain venture capital space such as g Ascensive Assets, Not3lau Capital, IOSG, and notable individuals such as Kieran Warwick co-founder of Illuvium, Loi Lui co-founder of Kyber, and Danish Chaudhry CEO and founder of FMFW.io.

Commenting on the development, MixMob CEO and Game Director, Simon Vieira, said:

“This appreciable injection of capital will allow us to achieve our strategic objectives over the coming months and years.”

Adding:

“The play-to-earn sector is showing no signs of slowing down, and by offering something vastly different to what already exists in the space, we firmly believe MixMob will prove to be a hit with the creative community.”

Mission to ‘Re-Chain’ the Culture

For the uninitiated, MixMob is set in a where a rogue master AI has essentially eliminated human culture. In response, MixMob tasks players with joining a creative resistance movement to re-chain the culture.

MixMob differs from the vast majority of its P2E contemporaries in that its player-owned metaverse platform’s design allows users for creativity and style just as much as for skill and reflex.

MixMob sold out its official resistance masks in December 2021. These masks are mutable NFTs that function as players’ unique identity within the rapidly evolving metaverse.

In addition, the platform’s colorful avatars allow holders to seamlessly access exclusive Discord channels. What’s more, they also make the users eligible for early airdrops and rewards. By default, all NFT owners become members of the MixMob DAO.

Besides masks, the platform’s players can acquire MixBots that are essentially pet NFTs that evolve according to gamers’ activities within the metaverse.

It’s worthy of note that while Phase I of MixMob is largely built around a strategy card racing game, its Phase II will witness the game’s ecosystem expand dramatically into a comprehensive, Fortnite-like world.

Currently, the game’s mechanics and flows are undergoing development. Further, the announcement states the team is also developing innovative tokenomics and a new concept for in-game land ownership.

Notably, MixMob’s development is being led by Encore Studios which assembled an all-star team comprising developers that have worked on globally successful gaming brands such as FIFA, Battlefield, Halo, and others, in the past.
