PancakeSwap launches instant cross-chain swaps on Across
PancakeSwap’s new cross-chain swap feature that lets users exchange tokens instantly. Powered by Across, the update removes technical hurdles on the platform to make trading easier.
Users can now swap tokens between BNB Chain (BNB), Arbitrum (ARB), and Base (BASE) directly through the PancakeSwap interface, completing the process in a single transaction.
To use the new Crosschain Swap feature, users can visit the PancakeSwap Swap page, choose a token and destination chain, and confirm the transaction. The interface then tracks all transaction history in one place for convenience.
The update allows users to swap between tokens without needing to use bridges, external apps, or complex tools. If a token has liquidity on the platform, it’s eligible for swapping across chains right from the main interface.
Powered by Across’ intent-based bridging system based on the open ERC-7683 intents standard, the update is designed to solve one of the biggest challenges plaguing the DeFi space today: interoperability.
Across currently powers around 20% of bridging volume across supported chains, with over $23 billion in transfers and more than 16 million transactions completed. It uses a network of relayers and UMA’s optimistic oracle to ensure fast, secure, and cost-efficient transactions.
As each chain remains isolated from one to another, liquidity is restricted, and moving assets often requires navigating a range of tools and platforms. These challenges result in slower transactions, higher costs, and added risks.

Co-founder of Across, Hart Lambur stated that the protocol’s intent-based infrastructure allows users the freedom to forego bridges altogether. They can interact with the platform as they normally do without thinking of the technical constraints.
