Highly Reputed Ghananian Artist Kojo Marfo Launching Own NFT Series
Kojo Marfo, in collaboration with JD Malat Gallery, has announced the upcoming launch of his non-fungible tokens (NFT) collection. The NFT collection, which will be minted throughout April 2022, features elements from the renowned Pablo Picasso, artifacts, and masks.
Kojo Marfo Joins the NFT Train
Kojo Marfo, a 42-year-old highly praised Ghanaian artist based in London, is collaborating with the JD Malat Gallery, an art gallery that specializes in showcasing the best contemporary art crafted by both established and emerging artists, to roll out his digital collectibles collection.
Per a press release shared with crypto.news, the collection will be minted throughout April 2022 and features art elements from Pablo Picasso, artifacts, and more.

According to the latest reports, the total value of all NFT transactions globally increased by a massive 21,350 percent to hit more than $17 billion in 2021, from just $82.5 million in 2020.
A Message of Hope
Marfo sees NFTs as a medium to reach new people whether they want to invest or are just passionate about the art world, as NFTs are the next frontier of communication for artists, and they bridge the gap between the real and digital world. The NFT collection minted by Marfo depicts those strong links with physical works.
Kojo Marfo says his ultimate objective is to convey a message of hope and understanding to all current and future collectors of his works. Marfo’s work is inspired by history and his Ghanaian origin. The latest collection is created through a base of 250 characteristics distributed via an algorithm to generate unique NFTs made up of three crucial pillars:
- Artistic vision: aimed at increasing visibility of Marfo’s works through innovative technology and new connections
- Charity: a portion of the proceeds will go to a charity organization dedicated to people children or people in difficult situations
- Blending the real and digital world.
The Ghanaian-born, London-based artist developed an interest in art and visual culture through traditional Akan artifacts, sculptures, and carvings that he was exposed to during his early years in the West African nation.
Marfo says these artifacts still give him strength and inspiration to this day. He references traditional Akan art to highlight social issues, like inequalities, religion, politics, spiritualism, and more.
Established in London in 2017, JD Malat Gallery specializes in displaying the works of renowned and emerging international artists alike.
