Shabangrsville Is Opening Doors For Photographers Through NFTs

NFTs became a popular DeFi trend in 2021 with the introduction of CryptoPunks and BoredApeYachtClub (BAYC). Although their use case was initially called into question, the industry has continued to grow, and so has the number of applications for NFTs. They’re now used in gaming, TV and throughout communities. However, one company is looking to take NFTs one step further. Shabangrs is the first NFT collection designed around the photography industry. The project aims to provide photographers with unique opportunities and perks to help kick start (or advance) their photography careers. Here’s what the project has to offer so far. 

What Is Shabangrs?

Shabangrs is the first NFT community specially designed for photographers. Its collection contains 2,500 unique NFTs all of which provide holders with a unique unlockable. These can include raffles, giveaways and even private workshops. Other options include photography equipment such as a Canon R5 Camera, a Macbook Pro and a Westcott Cine Flex Studio Kit. Once a Shabangr NFT has been purchased the holder will also gain access to Shabangrsville. Shabangrsville is a virtual city designed to provide photographers with a wide range of resources and opportunities. The development team believe that Shabangrsville can become a leading networking location for both creatives and photographers. Here, industry experts could make new connections and even land clients, whilst new photographers could network and gain mentorship from more experienced photographers. 

With the collection being limited to only 2,500 NFTs, the community will only be available for a minority within the photography industry. As a result, once the project sells out, not only will holders NFTs increase in value, but they will also have access to the only NFT photography community in the world. The range of NFTs available is extremely dynamic, with certain NFTs being more scarce than others. The rarity of an NFT will be based on the perk that comes with it, with rarer NFTs having a more expensive perk. However, once the perk has been used it will no longer be available. As a result, holders can choose to hold onto their perk with the hope of reselling their NFT, or they can use the perk to progress their photography career. 

One of the key advantages of this project is its focus on community. Unlike most NFTs, which are designed to make a quick profit. Shabangrs has a long term plan in place. Not only will they provide holders with benefits not available elsewhere, but their investment in Shabangrsville shows their dedication to community growth and development. 

The project has also implemented a charity plan, once again focusing on photography. A small percentage of Shabangrs sales will go towards charity, with the charity focusing on photography. The charity provides refugee children with the opportunity to take professional photos through their annual Picture My Life® program. By owning an NFT, holders will be granted Shabangrsville citizenship. This is always the case regardless of the perks associated with that NFT.
