Smartlink Launches First Tezos-based NFT Launchpad for Curated Digital Collectibles
Smartlink has announced the impending launch of its non-fungible tokens (NFTs) launchpad on the Tezos blockchain. The launchpad will focus on offering artists, gaming studios, and metaverse projects a greener, and cleaner environment to mint and trade NFTs.
Smartlink Taking NFTs to the Next Level
Since the days of Dapper Labs’ Crypto Kitties, the popularity of digital collectibles, also known as non-fungible tokens, have continued to surge, attracting more than $8 billion in trading volume in 2021 alone.
Now, Smartlink, a suite of decentralized applications (dApps) that leverages the Tezos (XTZ) blockchain to provide a cleaner, and greener platform to artists, gaming studios, and projects, is set to unveil its NFT launchpad.
According to a press release shared with crypto.news, the Smartlink NFT Launchpad, which is scheduled to officially go live before the end of Q1, 2022, is designed to significantly elevate the appeal of exclusive and curated NFT launches and offer artists a platform to connect with an established community, a suite of cutting-edge tools and open potential partnerships.
The team has stated categorically that the Smartlink NFT Launchpad will feature only the most unique and exclusive NFTs, while also offering users a plethora of exciting features, including blind minting, blind auctions, open auctions, and more.
SMURKS to Debut on Smartlink Launchpad
For those who are unaware, the blind auction is simply an NFT auction system where bidders are unable to know or see the bids of others during the auction. The blind auction NFT system works in the following ways:
- The NFT owner initializes the auction with the required settings
- Buyers bid for the NFTs during the predetermined auction period.
- Ownership of the NFT is transferred to the highest bidder when the auction ends
- The funds generated from the sale gets transferred to the seller (minus Smartlink fees)
- Bidders who couldn’t win the auction get their money back.
In the same vein, the team says its blind minting feature is designed to give members of its ecosystem a level playing field, making it possible for just anyone to lay their hands on even the rarest digital collectibles.
The team explains:
“The underlying premise of blind minting is that the user can’t see what will be minted or what will become their property. Each user pays the same entry price. Typically, most NFTs have various levels of rarity. With blind minting, the user wouldn’t know what level of rarity they would be receiving but are guaranteed to receive an NFT. The NFT is revealed only after the minting process or at the end of the overall collection sales.”
SMURKS will be the first NFT collections to go live on the Smartlink Launchpad. The team has also hinted that it has inked fresh partnership deals with some upcoming NFT and metaverse projects to enable them to release their digital collectibles on Smartlink.
In addition to its NFT Launchpad, the Smartlink ecosystem also features a highly secure escrow smart contract protocol designed to offer users a cutting-edge alternative to traditional escrow services, a decentralized exchange (DEX), and a crypto-friendly marketplace for goods and services.
