Web Summit Qatar, an upcoming technology conference, has sold out its startup, partner, and women in tech programs.

Over 1,000 startups and 100 partners from more than 80 countries will attend the event. Total registration now exceeds 12,000, up from the initial 7,500 attendee target.

The conference aims to connect the global tech community. Startups span nearly 30 industries. Trade groups from several countries will also attend to explore business opportunities in Qatar.

The event has attracted high-profile speakers like comedian Trevor Noah and astronaut Sara Sabry.

Web Summit states its women in tech program, which runs across all its conferences, has also sold out.

Local organizations like Women of Qatar will also participate.

Web Summit CEO Katherine Maher said:

“The incredible global representation at our first Middle East event is a powerful reminder that technology is international and opportunity is everywhere. Selling out the startups, partners, and Women in Tech programs weeks before the event takes place speaks to the quality and caliber of the Web Summit events, alongside the support of the GCO, as we expand into a region with an incredible generational opportunity and dynamism. I’m particularly excited to celebrate women’s empowerment at the Women in Tech lounge. I look forward to meeting the Women in Tech community from around the world.”

Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour Al Thani, Chairman of the Web Summit Qatar Organising Committee, said:

“We believe emerging technologies will transform the world of work and business, as well as across education, government, public services, and the private sector. We are pleased to host the first Web Summit event in the Middle East, building on our country’s unique blend of opportunity, innovation, and connectivity.”

The company is organizing Web Summit Qatar behind several other technology conferences globally.

These include Web Summit in Lisbon, Collision in Toronto, and Web Summit Rio.

As Web Summit’s first Middle East event, Qatar represents efforts to expand into a new region.

The conference will take place from Feb.26 to 29, 2024, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center.
