Bitget’s new COO to aim for Middle Eastern, Latin American expansion
Centralized crypto exchange Bitget has appointed Vugar Usi Zade as the new Chief Operations Officer.
In a podcast today, Usi Zade says that he wants to lead Bitget’s expansion into new markets, focusing on regions like Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa. His role will also be integral in strengthening the company’s influence in Southeast Asia and Europe.
At Bitget, Usi Zade’s responsibilities will encompass leading go-to-market teams and spearheading strategic expansion efforts.
His appointment is a strategic step for Bitget, which aims to enhance its global footprint and influence within the broader cryptocurrency ecosystem. The appointment of a new CEO comes on the back of a significantly successful 2023 for the exchange.
Bitget’s native token, BGB, has increased by over 210% in the past year, becoming the 11th largest exchange by volume, overtaking popular platforms like HTX, Crypto.com, and Upbit.
Before Usi Zade’s current role at Bitget, he held the title of head of marketing at Sony. His experience extends to major organizations like Facebook, where he was instrumental in their expansion to 45 countries.
