BitMex Crypto Exchange Partners with AC Milan as Official Sleeve Sponsor
Cryptocurrencies have come a long way and are progressively becoming mainstream as more industries accept them. There is no doubt that the sports sector has a huge impact on promoting cryptocurrency acceptance today, and soccer has become a popular venue for cryptocurrency firms to reach a wider audience.
BitMex Allies with AC Milan
In a partnership with the Italian football club AC Milan, cryptocurrency exchange BitMex will promote its logo on the sleeve of the team’s official match shirt. According to BitMex, the term of the contract is not defined, but it will run for many years.
The official press release reveals that the emblem will appear on jerseys for both the men’s and women’s teams, as well as on the team’s eSports squad known as AQM.
“We are delighted to welcome BitMEX to the Rossoneri family as a Principal Partner and our first-ever sleeve sponsor of both the men’s and women’s teams as well as of our eSports team AQM. Our red and black shirt is not just something our players wear on the pitch, it represents who we are, and it embodies the passion of the over 500 million AC Milan fans across the world. This is truly an exciting partnership and the beginning of a great journey for both brands and our fans,” said Casper Stylsvig, Chief Revenue Officer of AC Milan.
By leveraging AC Milan’s global fanbase, along with BitMex’s standing as a highly reputable industry name, this partnership will provide an internationally oriented Rossoneri fanbase with access to the growing cryptocurrency community while also providing BitMex with the opportunity to advocate digital financial literacy. BitMex users and business partners will also get special access to the renowned AC Milan brand via unique experiences.
BitMex CEO Alexander Höptner commented on the development:
“Our partnership with AC Milan is the start of a hugely exciting new chapter for BitMEX as we look to ramp up brand awareness and increase understanding of crypto. AC Milan is one of the world’s most progressive football clubs, and combined with its rich footballing heritage boasts extraordinary reach and engagement with fans globally. We felt we’d come home when we started talking to the Club, and we can’t wait to start interacting with the global Rossoneri family.”
Crypto and Sports
Several significant crypto-sports collaborations have been announced in recent weeks, and BitMex is the latest to join them. Just months back, crypto exchange FTX went on to rebrand the Miami Heat Arena to FTX Arena, while also rebranding a professional e-sports team to “TSM FTX”, and signing a seven-year sponsorship agreement with Riot Games to sponsor the League of Legends Championship Series.
