Blockstream gifts SeedSigner with $2,286 for easing Jade’s accessibility
Blockstream, the team behind the development of the Lightning Network (LN) and the Liquid Network, has made a one-time payment of 10m sats to the SeedSigner development fund.
Blockstream deposits $2,286 to SeedSigner’s development fund
The deposited amount translates to around $2,286 at spot rates. Blockstream said the amount was a “thank you” for the efforts made by Seed Signer for easing access to Jade, a hardware wallet.
SeedQR, developed by SeedSigner, is included in the Jade hard wallet package. This tool allows users to convert their private keys into QR format. Because of this, bitcoin holders can quickly recover their wallets by scanning their QR codes, saving them valuable time.
Coupling this with QR Scan, Jade wallet holders can seamlessly communicate with other air-gapped but compatible devices through QR codes via SeedQR. This, Blockstream notes, is essential because air-gapped devices are technically isolated.
Seed Signer is enhancing bitcoin (BTC) security. They have been actively releasing tools to make holders secure their valuable assets, regardless of the wallet type. The developer explains that their goal is to “lower the cost and complexity of Bitcoin multi-signature wallet use”.
Using SeedSigner’s standard developer kits (SDKs), for example, allows anyone to build their offline, air-gapped bitcoin signing devices. These devices can be assembled from off-the-shelf components.
In a secure means, it will be possible for users to sign bitcoin transactions, essentially allowing transactions while concurrently ensuring the security of the private keys and coins stored in the wallet. This allowance is critical because air-gapped devices are cut off entirely from the internet and other radio communication devices.
Easing access for Jade
Jade allows users to store the private keys of their BTC or Liquid wallet. The Liquid Network is a bitcoin layer-2 designed to enable the trustless swapping of security tokens within the bitcoin ecosystem. Jade can be used with Green, a hot wallet that uses the Multisig Shield to cushion coin holders against external attack vectors.
Earlier, Blockstream and Sevenlabs partnered with Poseidon Group to launch XDEX, a DEX focused on security tokens within the bitcoin ecosystem.
