Guardrail Adds Algorand on their AWS Marketplace

Guardrail Adds Algorand on their AWS Marketplace

Guardrail, a platform where startups can build secure, stable, and competitive applications on the cloud, has announced the general availability of the Algorand blockchain on their AWS marketplace.

Guardrail supports Building on the Algorand Blockchain for AWS

As per an announcement on February 21, this release will enable Algorand’s node infrastructure on the AWS, a welcomed addition, especially for users keen on joining the expansive Algorand ecosystem.

As part of Guardrail’s arsenal of solutions, Algorand for AWS has been validated by the blockchain’s core research team and enables prescriptive workflows for deploying high stake participation nodes.

The build environment will also be scalable, offering unlimited transaction and indexer queries where developers can run against their autoscaled infrastructure. It will also allow for autoscaling Algod nodes to achieve high throughput. Interested developers and startups eager to build on Algorand for AWS without limits pay $150 every month.

It is a continuation of what is already a trend amongst Algorand’s node operators. Some of the blockchain’s high-profile projects have been using Guardrail’s solutions as an alternative to centralized API aggregators offered by BisonTrails and PureStake.

By adopting Guardrail, projects avoid the inconveniences of rate-limiting while concurrently tapping and maximizing the capabilities offered by Algorand as they roll out secure non-custodial applications.

Tapping Maximum Benefits from Algorand

Chris Econn, the CEO of Guardrail, noted the risks of centralization, especially on pegging vital services such as payment systems on a cloud reseller. They subsequently use their experience to expose their clients to the powers of reliable AWS and Algorand.

Commenting, Chris said:

“If you want to use Algorand, there is a growing list of API “node aggregator” services that sell you relief from Algorand’s alleged complexity and the cloud’s alleged complexity. The more blockchains they work with, the more rigid and centralized they become. If you throw any meaningful traffic at them, you get rate limited. When customers adopt blockchain technology, it’s almost always to support critical infrastructure.”

Adding,

“There is a huge downstream risk in putting the reliability of your payment system into the hands of a cloud reseller. AWS isn’t complex. It’s powerful. Algorand isn’t complex. It’s powerful. We applied 13 years of experience with AWS to ensure nothing stands in between our customers and realizing that power.”

The promise of Self-Sustainability and Independence

Specifically, the release presents new opportunities as the AWS is leveraged to enhance blockchain technologies in ways like never before.

With this release, it is now possible for node operators—including Relay, Participation, and Indexer nodes–without—or with relatively low blockchain experience—to deploy and operate up to 1,000 nodes in 24 regions from their AWS accounts in less than 30 minutes.

At the same time, there is the promise of self-sustainability and independence since the building will eliminate the dependence on third-party API node aggregators through frictionless self-deployment and bullet-proof engineering.

Going forward, Guardrail will now distribute Algorand source code to its clients and keep them up to date with the latest Algorand mainnet versions as available from GitHub.
