What Will the Hackers Congress Paralelní Polis 2018 Have in Store?
The Hackers Congress Paralelní Polis is arguably one of the leading cryptocurrency conferences in the world. According to the organizers, the event will bring together thought leaders from the “the freedom movement, cryptoanarchy, sharing economy, cryptocurrencies, economy, sociology, political art, hacking and much more,” to share their knowledge at the conference in Prague.
The Hackers Congress Paralelní Polis 2018
The Hackers Congress’ theme this year is “New Order,” which will mean a focus on how crypto technologies will create a new world where individuals are fully in control of their future.
“The massive adoption of free crypto markets will not be the result of people’s need for freedom or privacy. It will be the result of their natural individual preferences. Collectivism is new slavery. Crypto-anarchists are new abolitionists. Crypto technologies are new arms. The natural order is the new order,” the conference organizer state on the event’s website.
Talks will cover topics such as hardware wallets for the Lightning Network, the peaceful potential of cryptoanarchy, the limits of zk-SNARKS, and scarcity in crypto networks, and decentralized mobile mesh networks, and more.

Additionally, panel discussions are planned on topics such as how to organize a crypto meetup, anonymous cryptocurrencies, and the Panama papers.
HCPP 2018’s speakers’ lineup reads like the who’s who of the cryptocurrency and crypto-anarchist communities with individuals such as Peter Todd, Jimmy Song, and Eric Lombrozo headlining the three-day conference.
Other notable speakers include former trader and author Nassim Nicholas Taleb, author of The Bitcoin Standard, Saifedean Ammous, and President of Liberland, Vít Jedlička.
Practical workshops will also be held by CryptoLab (Paralelní Polis hackerspace) that will allow attendees to test new privacy-enhancing technologies to protect their online privacy better.
For attendees who were looking forward to listening to the creator of the world’s first 3D printed gun, Cody Wilson, will be disappointed. He will not be able to attend the conference due to his legal issues in the U.S.
Cryptoanarchy Still Runs Deep in the Veins of the Community
All tickets for the Hackers Congress were sold out within three weeks, which is a testament to the popularity of this event.
The event highlights a vibrant cryptoanarchist faction within the cryptocurrency community that is leveraging emerging cryptography-based technologies to enhance their freedom and financial sovereignty. All of this in the face of bitcoin’s recent move into the mainstream and demands for regulation comes as a friendly reminder that there are many ideologies interested in the technology’s future.
Stay tuned for a day-by-day round up, exclusive interviews, and emerging narratives as BTCManager will be attending the three-day event.
