Meet The World’s First Cryptocurrency All-Girl Music Group

The world has seen several pop groups from Japan like AKB48 and Morning Musume, but there have never been one like the eight-member, all-girl pop group Kasotsuka Shojo, whose primary theme is cryptocurrency.

The Crypto Girls

Kasotsuka Shojo is japan’s new all-girl music group. They are a group of eight girls, and each member represents a Cryptocurrency. The team held its first crypto pop concert January 13, 2018, in Tokyo, Japan.

The name Kasotsuka Shojo means Virtual Currency Girls. The group is sponsored and owned by Japanese entertainment company, Cinderella Academy, which also manages many other popular Japanese music groups. According to Cinderella Entertainment, the primary aim of launching Kasotsuka Shojo is to educate the world about cryptocurrencies, using good music.

Each Virtual currency girl represents a cryptocurrency like Bitcoin or Altcoins like Ethereum, Ripple, Bitcoin Cash, XEM, Cardano, Mona and Neo and they can all be identified from their unique face masks, which have become popular in Japanese anime and cosplay environment.

According to Agence France Presse (AFP), Kasotsuka Shojo’s group leader, 18-year old Rara Naruse, whose costume represents Bitcoin Cash, said in an online statement that:

“We want to promote the idea through entertainment that virtual currencies are not just a tool for speculation but are a wonderful technology that will shape the future.”

In their debut single titled “The Moon and Virtual currencies and Me,” they sang about fraudulent cryptocurrency-based projects and the need for crypto users to properly secure their coins.

The Virtual Currency Girls have said on their official website that Cryptocurrencies are the only payment method available for ticket purchase at their debut concert holding in Tokyo on Friday, January 12, 2018.

It is worth noting that Japan is one of Bitcoin’s strongholds, with the country fully accepting Bitcoin as a legal tender since early 2017. According to an economic analysis by Nomura, the exponential rise in the Bitcoin price in 2017 will boost Japan’s GDP growth by at least 0.3 percent.

Many cryptocurrency analyst and enthusiasts have predicted that the crypto economy will do better in 2018; however, skeptics like Warren buffet still believe that nothing good comes out of cryptocurrencies and has said: ” I can say almost with certainty that cryptocurrencies will come to a bad end.”

At press time it appears the prophecies of the doomsayers may hold true, as all significant cryptocurrencies are experiencing a bloodbath, with the bitcoin price which hit $20,000 in December 2017 currently hovering at the $13,000 price area.
