Gone in Ten Seconds: Monsterra NFT Game Proves A Smash Hit with Their First Treasury Box Campaign with Binance NFT

Monsterra NFT Game’s maiden Treasury Box sale has taken the Binance NFT Marketplace by storm, with 20,000 tokens selling out in ten seconds. Monsterra, a play-to-earn (P2E) project that combines battling, yield farming and property building, raised $300,000 by selling the coveted non-fungible tokens for 15 BUSD a piece.

Hype had been steadily building for the Treasury Box sale in recent weeks, and the game’s budding community did not disappoint after thousands FOMO’d into a general sale that offered the unique opportunity to own valuable in-game assets at the best price. Although the sale was scheduled to run over 12 hours, ten seconds were needed for all items to be snapped up.

Shortly after the sale ended, Monsterra confirmed via Twitter that two more Treasury Box campaigns will be announced soon, one is collaborated with GameFi and another one is Metaverse Starter.

Mammoth Monster Sale

The NFTs that were up for grabs on Binance NFT Marketplace comprised land plots (11,219 NFTs) and Soulcore (8,781), two commodities that enable users to compete in Monsterra’s world. 

While land plot NFTs can be leveraged to build empires, raise Mongens (the game’s main characters) and earn MAG tokens, Soulcores function as the game’s DNA: divided into five rarity levels, Soulcores hatch into a Mongen whose value derives from the singularity of the Soulcore that birthed it.

Lucky users will have managed to acquire Soulcores with the ‘Epic’ designation, as well as land plots situated in advantageous areas of Monsterra’s environment. Land plot NFTs are split into eight categories, each with its own uses: pastures, for example, can be used to nurture Mongen while production plots are used to harvest food. At the upper end of the scale, ‘plot decor’ NFTs have the capacity to enhance the statistics of nearby land plots.

While many buyers are likely to hold onto their NFTs for use in the game itself, both land plots and Soulcore have already been changing hands on the secondary market. Aware that some unscrupulous parties may try to snap up hundreds of NFTs before dumping them just as fast, Monsterra had capped individual purchases at 50 Treasure Boxes.

Testnet Goes Live

On the same day that the NFTs sold out, Monsterra Game team announced the completion of its Internal Game Testnet and invited Meme Contest winners to join. After setting up/signing into their digital wallet, players can claim mock assets for use in the testnet phase. Additional NFTs will also be allocated on a daily basis via the testnet faucet.

A dual-chain game that operates on both Binance Smart Chain and Terra, Monsterra is modelled on Axie Infinity’s pet world, though the gameplay owes more to strategy video games such as Clash of Clans and Boom Beach. Gamers get to breed unique creatures, customise land, earn revenue through token staking, and participate in other play-to-earn activities. A play-for-fun model is also built in, with the game set to launch on desktop and mobile later this year. 

Ahead of the mainnet release, the Monsterra community can look forward to various giveaways and bounties as well as two more Treasury Box campaigns on GameFi and Metaverse Starter, plus an IDO (Initial DEX Offering). The project’s team will be collating feedback from the testnet version, with a view to refining features ahead of the full launch in Q4.
