MNRY, the token behind Moonray, launches on major exchanges, fueling its gaming ecosystem.
MNRY, the utility token powering Animoca Brands-backed game Moonray is officially launched on major global exchanges, including ByBit, KuCoin, and Gate.io. As of today, December 18, 2024, the MNRY token is available for trading against USDT on those platforms.
To celebrate the listing, the popular cryptocurrency exchanges have organized several campaigns with token prize pools aiming to further enhance the exposure and adoption of the token. Bybit offers several prize pools totaling over 5,000,000 MNRY Tokens available by participating in deposit-and-earn and trade-to-earn competitions. KuCoin also announced campaigns as part of its web3 startup token airdrop program giving away over 1,100,000 MNRY Tokens, and Gate.io is running campaigns with 1,500,000 MNRY tokens in prize pools.
The MNRY Token will power the Moonray ecosystem including its PC game, upcoming mobile title, and more. With a strong focus on community-driven growth, the token listing opens up new opportunities for the community to engage with Moonray’s growing ecosystem.
“We are incredibly excited about how we can leverage blockchain technologies to enhance the gaming experience. That MNRY, a utility token created by the Miium Foundation and that will power the Moonray ecosystem is being listed on premier exchanges like Bybit, KuCoin, and Gate.io ensures broad access globally” Hans Andersson, CBO and Co-founder of Moonray said in a statement. “We’re grateful for the support from our investors, partners, and community, and we can’t wait to share the next phase of our growth with everyone involved.”
The launch of the MNRY Token comes on the heels of the studio’s groundbreaking announcement regarding its upcoming PlayStation 5 launch in 2025. The company made headlines earlier this year as one of the first blockchain games to be confirmed for release on PlayStation 5, marking a significant step in bridging the gap between gaming and decentralized finance.
As Moonray continues to develop its game, the upcoming PS5 launch, although without any crypto features initially, is set to bring the Moonray universe to an even wider audience. The project debuted with early access to select players in March 2022 and has since launched on the Epic Games Store in July this year, offering campaigns with rewards for players.
The company has already ventured into artforms outside of gaming, with the release last year of “Mother’s Skin,” a graphic novel that develops the lore of the Moonray universe, and a second graphic novel called “Echoes of Ascension,” which was released earlier this year. The series is written by Eisner award-winning comic book artist Brandon Graham and is available in over 4,000 comic book stores in North America and the UK, including Midtown Comics and Barnes & Noble. Moonray has also partnered with renowned animation studio ReelFX for development of an animated series.
Moonray also recently achieved a major milestone in the NFT space with its record-breaking gaming NFT mint on OpenSea. The mint, which featured a limited edition of the in-game character “Jadeon Adam”, became the largest open mint for gaming to date on the NFT trading platform.
Moonray previously raised $10 million in several funding rounds and NFT sales, led by some of the biggest names in blockchain and gaming, led by Animoca Brands, Republic Crypto, and C2 Ventures, and including Polygon Ventures, Huobi Ventures, Cardano Ventures, and Master Ventures. The funds have been used for the development of the Moonray ecosystem and its continued expansion.
As Moonray continues to build momentum with its expansion to consoles, mobile launch, and groundbreaking NFT mints, the studio remains focused on expanding its ecosystem and offering players and investors new ways to engage with the platform.
