AllianceBlock’s NexeraID joins W3C to enhance security
AllianceBlock‘s identity issuance and verification platform, NexeraID, is now a member of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), the international organization responsible for developing web standards, a recent press release reveals.

As a W3C member, NexeraID joins the ranks of prestigious organizations such as Microsoft, Apple, Ethereum Foundation, and Coinbase. This allows NexeraID to engage with industry leaders, to promote the standardization of decentralized identifiers (DID) and verifiable credentials (VC) on the web. Through its involvement in W3C, NexeraID gains access to an extensive network within the web industry while contributing its technical expertise to web development.
Built on the open-source AllianceBlock Nexera Protocol, NexeraID leverages a programmable smart wallet to securely store digital assets and identity information. The solution empowers both enterprises and consumers to seamlessly onboard users to web3 using self-custodial or custodial wallets.
Developers can integrate web3 smart wallets and self-sovereign identities (SSI) into their existing infrastructures, thereby onboarding new users while complying with regulatory requirements. While users can create secure smart wallet accounts using familiar email or social media information, similar to traditional web2 projects.
Wallets can be conveniently managed using biometrics, Apple ID accounts, and Google Accounts, with additional security features such as spending limits and recovery capacity. This move shows NexeraID’s commitment to interoperability and adherence to established DID and VC standards.
