Frito-Lay Releases 350k NFTs Ahead of FIFA World Cup

Popular snack brand, Frito-lay has started campaigns for the FIFA World Cup with new limited edition NFT snacks and a unique digital fan experience.

Frito-Lay Gives Out FIFA-Themed NFTs to 350,000 Soccer Fans

Renowned snack maker and North America’s largest food company Frito-lay, has announced the upcoming release of unique personalized NFTs to 350,000 soccer enthusiasts as part of its FIFA World Cup Campaign. Frito-lay made this public in a press release on its website on the 19th of October, 2022.

According to Frito-Lay’s announcement, The one-of-a-kind NFT will be given to individuals who participate in the Pass the Ball Challenge, a virtual event designed to prepare North American soccer fans for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The challenge is the second of Frito-lay’s series of events for the World Cup Campaign.

The Pass the Ball Challenge

Since October 19, soccer fans across North America have been participating in the Pass the Ball Challenge. In this challenge, Frito-lay is leveraging innovative user-generated content, inviting fans to register on its platform to have their faces featured on a giant digital soccer ball. Frito-lay seeks to unite fans as they cheer on their respective teams during the FIFA World Cup. 

Also, participants of the challenge can see what teams others are rooting for by clicking on the different images within the digital soccer ball. Fans receiving Frito-lay’s one-of-a-kind NFT will be allowed to customize it with their image.

Frito-Lay has advised fans to act fast, as only the first 350,000 individuals to register will receive the customized NFT.

To participate in the Pass the Ball Challenge, people must purchase any Frito-Lay product with specially marked FIFA World Cup packaging, scan the QR code, or join by visiting Fritolayscore.com. 

Frito-Lay Celebrates Soccer Fans With New Time-Limited Snack Flavours

To celebrate the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup, Frito-Lay, the North American Regional Supporter of the FIFA World Cup, has rolled out three new globally-inspired snack flavors. In a press release, Frito-Lay North America said this would help prepare soccer fans for the FIFA World Cup with everything they need to enhance their at-home viewing experience.

On the 19th of October, Frito-Lay introduced three limited-time FIFA World Cup-inspired flavors as well as an interactive online fan experience for consumers to have the chance to win soccer-inspired merchandise and prizes – including a trip to the FIFA World Cup 2022™ final.

Frito-Lay to Enhance FIFA Home Viewing Experience

The new snack includes Lay’s Adobadas, which combines chili, tomato, and lime, Lay’s Bacon Wrapped Jalapeño Popper, inspired by the popular U.S. dish; and Lay’s Wavy Carnitas Street Tacos delivers a rich taco-style pork carnitas flavor.

Speaking on the company’s new releases, Tina Mahal, senior vice president of marketing Frito-Lay North America, stated;
