Graviton partners with Tezos India to expand reach
Tezos India, one of the leading blockchain adoption entities in the country, has teamed with Graviton to advance the acceptance of blockchain technology in India.
Partnership may boost dApp development on Tezos blockchain
The partnership will see Graviton provide active support to cohort groups in several areas and expose them to the Tezos blockchain ecosystem. Graviton is an India-focused web3 accelerator program for early-stage founders in the web3 space.
“We are extremely excited about the Web-3 innovation taking off in India, and we look forward to extending our support of the Indian crypto/Web-3 ecosystem. With the project with Graviton, we demonstrate our dedication to fostering this talent, and the Web-3 community in India is rapidly becoming a global force.”
Amanjot Malhotra, head of growth Tezos India.
Thanks to the recent partnership, the development of additional decentralized apps (dApps) on the Tezos blockchain is expected. A dApp, or decentralized application, is a type of software that runs on a blockchain network.
Unlike traditional apps that rely on a centralized server, dApps use the distributed nature of blockchain technology to run on a network of computers. This makes dApps more secure, transparent, and resistant to censorship, as there is no single point of failure.
DApps are particularly useful for developing nations like India, where many people are unbanked or underbanked.
Decentralized finance (DeFi), is a growing industry that leverages blockchain technology to provide financial services without the need for traditional intermediaries like banks. dApps are an essential component of DeFi, as they allow users to access these services without needing a bank account or other traditional financial infrastructure.
In India, for example, a significant piece of the population does not have access to traditional financial services like bank accounts, credit cards, and loans.
The decentralized nature of DeFi dApps makes it possible for anyone to access these services, regardless of where they live or their financial background, thus providing financial inclusion to the unbanked population. However, India started looking at the possibility of regulating or banning DeFi within the country.
Back in November 2022, Graviton also teamed up with Sei to onboard new developers to its ecosystem. By partnering with Graviton, Sei was able to tap into their expertise and resources to onboard new developers to its Layer 1 blockchain.
