InterContinental Shanghai Embraces VeChain and DNV GL’s Infection Risk Management Solution
InterContinental, a 5-Star heritage hotel located in the heart of Singapore’s cultural district of Bugis, has adopted VeChain ToolChain-powered My Care infection risk management solution at one of its branches in Shanghai, reports local media outlet Guangming Daily, July 13, 2020.
My Care Solution Sees Adoption
As the coronavirus pandemic ravages on, enterprises across the globe are increasingly looking for ways to limit the spread of the virus rather than remain locked down indefinitely.
In the latest development, Singapore’s InterContinental Hotel has turned to DNV GL’s COVID-19 infection risk management solution My Care. The highly reputed five-star hotel has successfully integrated the solution at its Shanghai Hongqiao NECC hotel.
The blockchain-based solution is designed to keep accurate records of certain processes at the hotel, including the disinfection of the swimming pools, cleaning of air conditioners, and other operations that promote a cleaner, disease-free environment.

The ToolChain-powered blockchain solution also makes it possible for customers of the hotel to scan its health safety info via a QR code. For the uninitiated, ToolChain is a blockchain-as-a-service (BaaS) platform developed by VeChain.
As reported by BTCManager earlier in June, DNV GL, a Norwegian international accredited registrar and classification society chose VeChain ToolChain as the technology of choice for its My Care COVID-19 infection risk management solution.
The My Care solution is a suite of independent assessment services designed to enable firms to provide assurance to their clients on the effectiveness of the coronavirus infection risk management practices they’ve put in place.
Commenting on the innovative solution, Kang Wenyu, president of DNV Management Services Group described DNV GL’s My Care solution powered by VeChain as a one of a kind, robust and highly functional system.
“This is not a simple certificate. It is a professional management system and a powerful work record. It uses hospital-level standards and systems to help companies improve their risk control capability and reduce the risk of getting back to work, while also boosting the confidence of customers.”
With this development, InterContinental Shanghai has become the latest entity to secure the My Care safety verification certificate from DNV GL. BTCManager reported in June that Finnish shipping company, Viking Line, had bagged the verification to ensure workplace safety.
At press time, the price of VeChain’s native cryptocurrency, VET is trading at $0.017941, with a market capitalization of $994.9 million, as seen on CoinMarketCap.
