Lucid Sight Blockchain Gaming Platform Raises $6M from Notable Investors
In a bid to expand its distributed ledger technology (DLT) powered MLB Champions and Crypto Space Commander games and make them available on traditional platforms, Lucid Sight, the developer of innovative games for blockchain technologies, has raised $6 million from several investors, including Digital Currency Group, Galaxy EOS VC Fund and others, reports VentureBeat on April 2, 2019.
Blockchain Gaming to the Next Level
Per sources close to the matter, Lucid Sight has raised $6 million in a funding round to make its Major League Baseball (MLB) Champions and Crypto Space Commander (CSC) blockchain games available on mobile, personal computer and game consoles.
Some of the investors include Salem Partners, a Los Angeles-based wealth management firm, The Galaxy EOS VC Fund, Breakaway Growth, and Frontier Venture Capital.
In total, Lucid sight has now raised $11 million and the firm plans to expand its software developer kit called Scarcity Engine to make blockchain games more available on traditional gaming platforms.
Commenting on the success of its latest funding round, Randy Saaf, CEO of Lucid Sight, iterated that:
“Our new capital will enable us to bring games such as MLB Champions and CSC to the public, while also maintaining the benefits of digital scarcity provided by blockchain technology. We have found that game players enjoy digital ownership in our games, but players want to have the freedom to game where they traditionally game: mobile, PC, and Console.”
Per VB, Lucid Sight launched the beta version of MLB Champions digital collectible game during the 2018 MLB season, allowing players to purchase collectibles that generate rewards for them as real-life baseball games are played.
CSC, on the other hand, is a multiplayer online space game that operates in an entirely real-time player-controlled economy. Lucid Sight has hinted that the PC version of CSC will be available later in 2019.
Lucid Sight Collaborating with Third Party Game Devs
Reportedly, Lucid Sight will use the new funds to launch its Scarcity Engine 1.0 in collaboration with third-party game developers such as Iridium Studios.
If all goes as planned, Scarcity Engine will be implemented in Iridium Studios’ action role-playing game, Cryptic Conjure which is still under development. Lucid Sight has also reportedly inked a partnership deal with Animonica Brands as part of broader plans to introduce its blockchain games to Asian markets.
While blockchain technology has been making inroads in finance and several other areas of the world economy, the gaming ecosystem is fast catching the fever too.

Earlier in February 2019, BTCManager informed that mobile gaming and eSports expert, Kevin Chou had launched Forte, a blockchain gaming platform to transform the gaming ecosystem.
