Decentralized web blockchain project Tron (TRX) on April 27, 2020, announced that its decentralized applications (dApps) will now be available on the Samsung Galaxy Store. This, according to a report by Coindesk.
Tron Makes Samsung Galaxy Store Debut
In a landmark development for the TRX ecosystem, the Justin Sun-led distributed ledger technology (DLT) project announced that Samsung smartphones and tablet users will now be able to use Tron-based dApps. Specifically, Samsung smartphone and tab users will now be able to download these dApps from a specific section of the Galaxy Store.
Tron stated that on-chain games including titles such as Blockchain Cuties and Super Players will be available on the Samsung Galaxy Store. The project aims to add more dApps in the near future.
In the words of Sun himself, the partnership between Tron and Samsung is going “to the next level by integrating both ecosystems together.”
The Tron CEO added that through the introduction of TRX-powered dApps on the Samsung Galaxy Store, a whole new giant userbase can be tapped to introduce them to the Tron ecosystem.
An Alliance with History
Known for its high-profile partnerships within the cryptocurrency industry, Tron is one of the more popular blockchain projects. Constantly rivaling the likes of Ethereum (ETH) and EOS, Tron has cemented itself as one of the smart-contract projects with immense potential in a relatively short period of time.
As reported by BTCManager in October last year, Samsung had unveiled a TRX-specific dApp building toolkit to encourage the adoption of Tron dApps within the tech giant’s mobile ecosystem.
On a more recent note, BTCManager reported on January 6, 2020, how Samsung Blockchain Wallet had added support for popular Tron dApp Blockchain Cuties. Notably, Blockchain Cuties was also the first full-featured collectible game to join the Samsung Blockchain Universe.
In fact, the blockchain dApp marketplace is steadily picking up steam. An increasing number of developers can be observed to be flocking to the budding and exciting dApp space to put their creativity to novel use.
At press time, TRX trades at $0.014 with a market cap of more than $964 million and a 24-hour trading volume of approximately $1.43 million.
