Venmo users can now buy crypto directly through Exodus wallet

Exodus has expanded its cryptocurrency purchasing options by integrating Venmo as a payment method through a partnership with MoonPay.
The move allows more than 60 million Venmo users to buy digital assets directly within the Exodus mobile wallet, streamlining access to cryptocurrencies.
The feature, now available for U.S. users, enables purchases through MoonPay’s checkout interface. Venmo joins Exodus’s existing payment methods, which include debit and credit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and bank transfers, according to a note shared with crypto.news.
“By integrating Venmo through MoonPay, we’re making cryptocurrency more accessible to tens of millions of Americans who already know, trust, and use Venmo for their daily transactions,” said Kevin Wood, Director of Revenue Operations at Exodus.
Exodus, a self-custodial wallet provider, continues to expand payment options to simplify digital asset ownership.
Venmo and MoonPay partnership
In October 2024, Venmo partnered with MoonPay to enable its 60 million U.S. users to buy cryptocurrencies directly using their Venmo balances. The feature rolled out across MoonPay’s partner network, with plans to expand to more platforms.
With this integration, Venmo users can purchase cryptocurrencies without linking external bank accounts, simplifying the process. The partnership aligns with PayPal and Venmo’s broader crypto adoption strategy, which previously introduced features like crypto transfers between Venmo users.
