XRPL Hackathon Seoul 2025 concludes with 30 teams showcasing innovation

The XRPL Hackathon Seoul 2025 wrapped up with over 150 participants showcasing blockchain-fintech projects.
Seoul, South Korea – The XRPL Hackathon Seoul 2025, held from September 20 to 21 at Dreamplus Gangnam, concluded successfully with over 150 participants and 30 teams presenting their innovative projects. The hackathon also marked the official kickoff of Korea Blockchain Week (KBW 2025).
This year’s hackathon focused on the convergence of blockchain and fintech, with teams showcasing creative solutions in areas such as payments, asset management, and data utilization. The event highlighted the vast potential of the XRPL ecosystem and its role in driving real-world adoption.
Ripple joined as the official title sponsor, with XRPL Korea serving as organizer and host. Partner organizations included Seoul Fintech Lab, Strong Ventures, Intervest, JB Investment, Tenity, Simsan Ventures, Gwanak Startup Venture Agency, Nanuhm Angels, Andis Partners, ABC Patent Law Office, and Certik. Academic and ecosystem collaborators such as Kwangwoon University, Ewha Womans University, Yonsei University, InfiniteBlock, RocketPunch, and Glimpse also took part.
Following the final judging, Uniport was awarded the Grand Prize. SportiQue received the Excellence Award, while Traverse secured the Outstanding Award. TartAI and pAdrop were both recognized with Special Awards. In total, winners received KRW 15 million in prize money, along with opportunities for XRPL Grants, invitations to the upcoming Demo Day, fast-track benefits for accelerator/incubation programs, and support for patent applications.
The winning project, Uniport, introduced an automated settlement and onboarding solution for inbound foreign residents in Korea. Their service enables foreign nationals to apply for alien registration cards directly at the airport in under 30 minutes, while also integrating stablecoin-based payment systems (XRP, RLUSD) to offer reduced fees and duty-free benefits. Judges praised Uniport for its practical impact and contribution to the XRPL ecosystem.
