Latest BNB Chain Developments

On October 4, 2022, BNB Chain revealed that it had entered into a strategic partnership with an oracle platform, Pyth Network, to produce high-quality live market data for crypto feeds on the BNB Chain mainnet and Binance sidechain.

It’s been an eventful week for BNB Chain’s parent company, Binance. On Thursday, October 6, 2022, a cross-chain bridge linking with the BNB Chain was targeted by hackers, enabling them to steal two million BNB tokens valued at over $570 million at the time. The exchange subsequently suspended all transaction processing while a team of developers investigated the breach.

An exploit on a cross-chain bridge, BSC Token Hub, resulted in extra BNB. We have asked all validators to temporarily suspend BSC,” Changpeng Zhao, Binance’s CEO, said in a tweet Thursday evening.

The BNB Smart Chain (BSC) resumed operations at 06:40 AM (UTC) on October 7, 2022. The BNB chain validators adopted a software update that would prevent the bad actors from withdrawing the stolen funds from the blockchain.

At press time, the price of the BNB token is hovering around $281
