Chingari (GARI) Now India’s Number One Social Media App on Google Play

The Chingari (GARI) team has announced that the app has just hit the number one spot on Google Play to become India’s top free social media platform on the Android app store, dwarfing top players in the industry like Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat.

Chingari Tops the Charts

Chingari (GARI), India’s leading short video sharing app with more than 32 million daily active users, has reached another important milestone in its journey. Chingari is now India’s number one social media app on Google Play, surpassing popular apps like Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat.

Founded in November 2018 by Sumit Ghosh, Deepak Salvi, Aditya Kothari, and Biswatma Nayak, the Chingari app has rapidly risen from relative obscurity over the years to become India’s hottest social media platform, thanks to distributed ledger technology and crypto.

It will be recalled that the Chingari app entered into the history books last October as India’s first-ever social media platform to launch its own cryptocurrency. The GARI token sale was hugely successful, as the project was able to raise $6 million during its IDO on SolRazr.

Powered by the Solana (SOL) blockchain, the GARI token is designed to foster content monetization in the Chingari ecosystem. The token makes it possible for hundreds of influencers and popular creators in Chingari to earn huge rewards for their efforts.

Chingari Leading the Pack

While the integration of cryptocurrency into the Chingari ecosystem has proven to be a forward-thinking move, as evidenced by the platform’s exponential growth in user base and popularity, it’s worth noting that the app’s newfound popularity is also a combination of its simple mechanics and user-friendliness.

Just like on other popular social media platforms such as YouTube, and Snapchat, Chingari makes it possible for its users to create and upload short videos, create voice-over movie scenes, perform comedy skits, and more. The platform also enables users to sell various types of goods and merchandise, with support for NFTs.

That’s not all, Chingari also boasts extremely popular, built-in filters to help users create a vast array of visual effects. All these innovative features have immensely contributed to the success of the award-winning social media platform in the world’s second-most populous country.

With nearly 100 million downloads so far and 32 million active users, Chingari is presently on top of its game and it is expected that the team’s smart crypto adoption push will keep Chigari at the top for a long time to come.
