Crypto exchange OKX has unveiled Apple Pay as a new payment option for customers in the U.S. and EEA, enabling instant, secure crypto purchases using stored cards and biometric authorization. The integration removes the need for manual entry of card or billing details, streamlining OKX’s Buy Crypto flow and reinforcing OKX’s commitment to making crypto simpler and more accessible.
OKX’s rollout of Apple Pay comes just a day after Kraken announced its own integration with PayPal for U.S. customers, allowing instant USD deposits via PayPal balances, linked bank accounts, or cards without entering bank credentials.
Recent moves in payment integration driving crypto adoption
These moves by OKX and Kraken reflect a growing trend of crypto service providers adding more seamless payment options like Apple Pay and PayPal to make it easier for people to get started with crypto trading. Most notably, Binance recently expanded its fiat gateway through a partnership with Worldpay, adding Apple Pay and Google Pay support to make crypto purchases easier.
In May, Mesh also added Apple Pay for crypto purchases, instantly converting coins to stablecoins so merchants don’t have to handle crypto.
JPMorgan recently partnered with Coinbase to let Chase credit card users buy crypto starting this fall.
