Shiba Inu invited to work with the World Economic Forum
Shiba Inu (SHIB)’s main developer has been invited to work with the World Economic Forum on MV global policy. Shytoshi Kusama, Shiba Inu’s lead exec, asks the community to decide whether the Shiba Inu project should work with the World Economic Forum (WEF).
Shiba Inu receives call to join WEF
Shiba Inu, a community-building crypto ecosystem, has received the World Economic Forum’s invitation to work on their MV global policy. The announcement was made on Twitter today, November 23, 2022, by Shytoshi Kusama, the pseudonymous lead developer behind the popular meme coin Shiba Inu.
According to Kusama’s tweet, the World Economic Forum (WEF) wants to work with the popular cryptocurrency project on its global metaverse (MV) policy. While announcing the firm’s new feat, Kusama has also run a poll on Twitter to find out whether the community wants Shiba Inu to collaborate with the WEF.
“ShibArmy, I need a quick vote: We have been kindly invited to work with the WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM regarding their MV global policy. Would love to know what you all think because it’s not our decision, but yours,”
Kusama tweeted. Less than 24 hours after the crypto lord’s tweet, nearly 5,000 votes have been cast, with most followers favoring the Shiba-WEF collaboration.
Shiba Inu set to shape global policy alongside WEF
In addition to the big reveal, Kusama has also claimed that the new collaboration will enable Shiba Inu developers to sit at the table with WEF policymakers, helping to shape the global policy for the metaverse alongside tech giant Meta as well as decentralized crypto-native projects such as Decentraland. He said,
“We would be at the table with policy makers and help shape global policy for the MV alongside other giants like FB (bye Zuck), Sand, Decentraland etc. And please don’t ask my opinion, you already know.”
As of press time, over 65% of the roughly 9,500 respondents voted in support of the Shiba Inu and WEF alliance.
Although crypto and Blockchain have sometimes been under discussion at World Economic Forum events, collaborating with a popular meme coin is a first for the organization. Shiba Inu has been actively pushing the frontiers of Web3 and crypto innovations. In February 2021, The Shiba Inu protocol made a foray into the metaverse by introducing “Shiba Lands.” Also, earlier this month, SHIB: The Metaverse introduced a new art concept named Dunes. This came on the heels of the platform’s first “Canyon” art concept inspired by badlands, a dry area without plants and with big rocks.
