TRON’s BitTorrent (BTT) Begins Testing of BLive Streaming Service
The BitTorrent/TRON (TRX) blockchain project are set to begin internal testing of BitTorrent Live (BLive), a mobile streaming service the team claims will enable users to create live video content, connect with like minds and earn BTT, according to a blog post on August 27, 2019.
BLive Testing Underway
As stated in the post, the BitTorrent team is about to commence internal testing of BLive, a distributed ledger technology (DLT) streaming platform the team claims would open a whole new world of opportunities for content creators and users.
Just like the innovative Brave Browser project, where users can tip their favorite publishers with BAT tokens, the BitTorrent team says BLive comes with an exciting gifting feature that makes it possible for people to tip with BTT and other cryptos, while also enabling broadcasters to earn cryptocurrency and expand their user-base.
That’s not all, the team claims BLive will support a range of features, including audio/video live streams, an instant messaging system that allows multiple users to communicate and collaborate in real-time, and deposit/withdrawal services of BTT as well as other altcoins.
Empowering Content Creators
The BitTorrent team says one of the primary objectives of BLive is to bring about a paradigm shift in the world of content creation and give back power to content creators by establishing a fairer reward distribution system that will translate to more revenue.
Justin Sun, the highly controversial founder of TRON declared:
“ With the continuous growth of telecoms technology and social media, live streams have gained significant traction and have become the dark horse of online communication. It gives rise to outstanding content creators who have thousands of followers but don’t get their fair share of ads and virtual gifts,”
That’s not all, the team claims BLive is also designed to ease cross-border payments with BTT, allowing users to deposit and withdraw their funds anywhere across the globe with zero transaction fees.
Three Stages of BLive
Per the team, the internal testing phase represents the Alpha version of BLive, where the team builds the underlying system, including the audio/video live stream service, payments system, gifting system e.t.c and invite a select group of users to test it. BLive’s Alpha will be completed in Q3 2019.
The team also plans to launch the BLive Beta in Q4 2019 and if all goes as planned, the full version will be launched by the end of Q1 2020.
