Yuga Labs announces second Otherside metaverse trip
Yuga Labs has announced that the second test of its Otherside blockchain gaming metaverse will go live on March 25. Otherdeed NFT holders will enjoy an interactive gaming experience led by Otherside Team Captains in the metaverse. Â
Yuga Labs, the team behind the popular non-fungible token (NFT) collections, Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), has announced that the second test event of its Otherside metaverse will go live on Mar. 25, with the exact time to be announced later.
Per the announcement, Yuga Labs, which recently concluded the auction of its bitcoin-powered TwelveFold NFTs, has made it clear that Otherdeed NFT holders and Otherside users (voyagers) will enjoy an interactive gaming experience in the metaverse led by its team captains.
During the upcoming second trip event, Otherdeed holders will have priority access and can invite a guest. Yuga Labs is also looking to expand the list of supported countries to enable gamers worldwide to participate in the event.
Yuga Labs experienced a Mailchimp data breach in January. To make it harder for scammers to leverage its upcoming event to perpetrate, the company will share the link to the second trip event via its official social media handles and blog.
Yuga Labs raised $450 million last March via a funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz and other investors to launch the Otherside metaverse. While the firm’s NFT and metaverse journey has been hugely successful so far, Yuga Labs has also attracted its fair share of controversies and even lawsuits
Last month, Yuga Labs reached an out-of-court settlement with Thomas Lehman over a BAYC collection trademark infringement dispute. The company has recently been accused of intellectual property theft, with ten trademark requests being opposed due to copyright infringement.
