Bitpanda licensed to operate in Germany

Bitpanda has just been granted an operating license by the German crypto regulator BaFin.

In a press release, Bitpanda announced that it had secured the largest crypto license, becoming the first fully licensed European Crypto exchange in Australia.

Earlier today, Bitpanda announced:

“There is a reason to celebrate! We are pleased to announce that we are the first European retail investment platform to receive a full licence from the German regulator BaFin for custody and proprietary trading of crypto assets”.

According to Bitpanda’s report, The license was granted by BaFin, the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority. With the BaFin license, Bitpanda can now actively market and offer services in the German market – securely, reliably, and strictly regulated. Bitpanda’s businesses operated based on various VASP registrations, as well as MiFID II, E-Money, PSD II licenses, and others, will now be available to the Australian market.

On the new development, Bitpanda has stated that the license is an important milestone towards its “overarching ambition to create a fully regulated environment for crypto investments in Europe.” The platform wrote:

“Ultimately, in an industry where many unregulated players are more interested in vying for the favor of investors or maximizing revenues, we remain focused on consumer protection.”

Bitpanda has also promised to continue working hard to provide “industry-leading and fully compliant financial services,” which will equip retail investors and businesses with the tools they need to build an independent financial future.

Bitpanda launches podcast

Bitpanda seems to have more goodies for the Crypto community. In addition to its new license reveal, Bitpanda is launching its new podcast, the Panda Insights Podcast, to offer crypto updates and discuss crypto-related issues. The new podcast will be available to download from Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, and more. 

According to the crypto exchange, the first episode of the Panda Insights podcast will be dropping on the 24th of November. The podcast’s host is Dr. Teo Pham, an expert in social media, eCommerce, the metaverse and NFTs, and the owner of the largest German-speaking Discord channel. 

“We’re excited to announce the launch of the weekly Panda Insights podcast…We ’ll be speaking to experts, offering market updates, discussing the latest crypto news and much much more.”
