Canopy and Fhenix have announced that they are integrating confidential computation into the Canopy Stack to support private onchain apps. The companies aim to help developers keep sensitive user data encrypted while applications use it. The planned system will rely on Fhenix’s CoFHE coprocessor and Canopy’s development tools, with rollout scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026.
Private onchain apps put encryption into development
The partnership centers on the Canopy Confidential App template. It will use fully homomorphic encryption, or FHE, through Fhenix’s CoFHE coprocessor. Developers will add encrypted computation through a familiar TypeScript library. Teams will not need to build a separate cryptography system or hire specialist cryptographers. Canopy will handle supporting infrastructure so developers can focus on each application’s functions and user experience.
