Denver: Quiznos Restaurant Customers Can Now Pay in Bitcoin (BTC) Courtesy of Bakkt Partnership
Bitcoin adoption continues to gain traction as a new partnership between Bakkt and Quiznos allows users to pay in BTC for meals at certain locations in the US.

According to a press release issued on August 3, digital asset marketplace Bakkt has collaborated with Denver-based chain restaurant Quiznos to launch a joint physical location pilot that allows Quiznos customers to pay for meals with BTC at certain locations.
Notably, the pilot will be available at select Quiznos locations across the Denver market including the Denver airport from mid-August onwards.
The rollout of the pilot will begin at select Quiznos locations in the Denver market by allowing customers to pay for their meals in BTC via the Bakkt app. What’s more, customers who download the Bakkt app, buy BTC and spend it to purchase their next Quiznos receive $15 worth of BTC as a reward.
Commenting on the development, Sheela Zemlin, Chief Revenue Officer, Bakkt, noted:
“This is an exciting tentpole moment for us as we connect the next generation of customer experiences to the digital economy.”
Adding:
“Through this partnership, we are introducing unique experiences to Quiznos customers by enabling them to take advantage of new ways to interact with digital assets and bringing bitcoin utility to the mainstream consumer market. We will closely watch how this pilot performs, with the potential to expand the partnership to additional Quiznos locations across the country.”
Mark Lohmann, President of REGO Restaurant Group – the owner of Quiznos and other nation QSR chains noted the benefit of allying with Bakkt as it will enable the franchise to accept bitcoin directly at the point of sale without any hassle.
He added:
“As we continue our digital transformation journey and respond to mobile and millennial consumer demand for alternative and cryptocurrency payment options, we are excited to offer yet another accessible way for customers to buy a meal, in this case, through the Bakkt digital asset wallet.”
In other news pertaining to bitcoin adoption, a high-end hotels group – The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts – announced it would start accepting bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies for booking accommodation.
