Enterprise Ethereum Alliance Debuts Mainnet Integration Protocol for Corporate Systems of Record

Chainlink and Unibright are among a group of Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA) members that have formed a task force to create protocols for integrating the Ethereum blockchain with mainstream corporate systems of records.

EMINENT: Decentralizing Mainstream ERPs

EEA announced the news of the task force via a press statement published on its website. According to the press release, the Ethereum Mainnet Integration for Enterprises (EMINENT) is the brainchild of EEA members like Chainlink and Unibright as part of efforts to lead mainstream corporate systems into adopting decentralization.

EMINENT’s main focus is to create modalities that will create protocols for integrating the Ethereum mainnet with corporate systems of record like ERP and CRM. Excerpts from the EEA press statement read:

“The task force’s focus is to build open source available reference implementations and guidelines for mainnet integration with enterprise ‘systems of record.’ Rearranging existing architectures around centralised ERP-systems towards decentralization implicates new ideas about how systems interact.”

The EMINENT task force plans to work towards defining and creating work packages as well as proofs-of-concept for open-source integration frameworks between ERPs and the Ethereum mainnet.

Commenting on the importance of a task force like EMINENT in creating enterprise-grade blockchain-based solutions, Unibright co-founder Stefan Schmidt remarked:

“In current client projects we all see a lot of individual development due to the lack of standards. Our goal is to make life easier for enterprises and technology providers, to help building standards and to be able to focus on the special 20% of an individual use-case, rather than re-inventing wheels all the time. The setup of this task force is very powerful and we are happy to be a leading part of it.”

EEA Pushing Adoption for Ethereum-based Enterprise Solutions

EMINENT is the latest initiative by the EEA geared towards creating environments for expanding the Ethereum mainnet into the global business process. As previously reported by BTCManager, the EEA recently partnered with Whiteblock to launch a global TestNet for network participants.

Back in 2018, the EEA also released the Enterprise Ethereum Architecture Stack (EEAS) aimed at streamlining the process of developing Ethereum-based applications for enterprise clients.

Since its emergence, many commentators have highlighted the potential for blockchain technology to disrupt several sectors of the global business process. While cryptocurrencies and digital payment systems remain popular, there is also a push to implement decentralized technology for enterprises in areas like supply chain management (SCM), agriculture, among others.
