Sam Bankman-Fried insider claims image of former FTX founder in jail is legit
Famed crypto YouTuber and SBF insider Tiffany Fong goes on record saying the infamous image of the famed ex-FTX CEO circulating on the internet is legit.
Independent crypto reporter Tiffany Fong shared a photo of the founder of the collapsed FTX crypto exchange, describing the image as the “first and only” photo of Sam Bankman-Fried to be released since he was jailed after being convicted of fraud in August 2023.
In the photo, reportedly taken on Dec. 17, 2023, Bankman-Fried sports a beard and appears noticeably thinner while standing next to five other inmates.
The journalist also published a fragment of an interview with another prisoner under the alias G-Lock, who communicated with Bankman-Fried. He described the FTX founder as strange, but admitted that he considered him a good guy.
“Sam Bankman was clean shaven, you heard, now he’s scruffier than a motherfucker,” G Lock, an alleged member of the Bloods gang, told Fong in an excerpt from a post release interview that will be released in full on her YouTube channel next week.
A member of the crypto community was quick to comment on the photo. One user admitted that he felt sorry for Bankman-Fried despite losing money due to FTX.
Another user said he wished FTX management had used their brains.
On Nov. 2, 2023, the jury returned a verdict in the case of the ex-CEO of FTX. The court found Sam Bankman-Fried guilty on all seven counts.
